About Reality Check
Concerning the continuing adventures of one John Grey and one Thomas Fool: Our less than heroic heroes are suddenly given the ability to travel to alternative times and locations stretching out across the farthest reaches of the known and unknown universe.
How did this happen, you ask?
Well, our two rather lackluster friends come to possess the “Reality Map,” and a box of “Traveler’s Chalk,” both items of Cosmic Importance, which allows the users to travel trans-dimensionally to any place in time they might desire. Our less than stalwart heroes gain the map and chalk after stealing them away from two intergalactic thieves, Hercule and Spliff.(This occurs after Hercule and Spliff accidentally transport themselves in front of John and Tom’s unbelieving eyes.)
The catch? After using the Map, our friends John and Tom realize that they really don’t know how to read it, and thus cannot easily return home. Or, even know where they are going, for that matter.
Also, unbeknownst to our heroes, the villainous Dr. Hugo Von Krugel, Diabolical Evil Genius and Resident Mastermind of a Great Many Brilliant Schemes concerning Universal Domination and New Totalitarian Cosmic Orders, well, wants his damn map back.
And his damn chalk, too.
At this point, he would also like to inflict unspeakably horrible acts of excessive torture upon our not quite valorous heroes, just because. That’s after he finds his damn map and damn chalk.
In that order.
For their part,Hercule and Spliff are also very interested in reclaiming Von Krugel’s damn map and chalk. And, for the record, they don’t like John Grey or Tom Fool very much none, either.
And thus, let us begin our story, with the initial robbery and a daring escape…
